fun detail... the face is me trying to copy Uma Thurman's expression from the Gogo scene in Kill Bill. Naturally Kill Bill is a big inspiration for this comic, being also about a woman taking revenge on four powerful people.

You know, out of the subordinates of the squad, I think I liked Ajax's design the best. Also, Vapeurie is best girl.

Ajax was definitely a cut above the rest overall. When I made him I thought of "that one mook that is unexpectedly overly competent." That said, mostly served to characterize Lady Rilah as being a cut above the rest as well.

Also I agree, she is best girl. Beep boop beep boop.

How do hieroglyphs work, anyway? Does each symbol represent a syllable? Do some represent syllables and some represent entire words? I've never really looked into it.

As far as I know, it's a combination of those. Sometimes the same glyph can represent a word, concept, or sound depending on context. One thing I do know is that those glyphs that represented sounds would always represent consonants, never vowels, so there is some guesswork required in spelling ancient Egyptian terms and names.
