They.... allowed AI... in the contest....???

mich-spich responds:

It was not stated in the rules but apparently, the judges (artists btw) didn't notice it being AI. If you look at some of the images you can tell after a few seconds of looking something's off.

This is awesome! God I need to draw Spiderman. Such a great excuse to draw insane dynamic poses and ripped men.

I did want to ask about how you do linework, tho, given how you included some intermediate stages. How do you go from the sketch to the final thing? Do you just clean up the linework a little, do you totally redo it, or something else? I notice some artists don't use lines at all in the final version, but it looks like you're using them.

StickiezBlue responds:

I just draw over my rough sketch in a new layer and add details to polish it up. Basically, when I draw the lines I am redoing it in a way.

Oh it's this lass :D. I wonder about the prudence of unwrapping her, given that her last outfit was a straightjacket....

RaynLikeRain responds:

Don't worry, she's still secure... see? ;)

Wtf, bro, how did you make a marker glow? That goes insane.

AntonM responds:

Thanks, yeah I really like how that came out :))

Ough, this is really cool. Based traditional art. Also based hollow knight mention.

Jaratik responds:

Thanks bro, also Hollow Knight is GOATED!!!

Nice work on all the crazy perspective. I always have such a hard time with getting rigid, geometric things to look right at unconventional angles.

trashprofessor responds:

Thank you!

Ayo, that pom pom kinda ruins the aesthetic XD. Do you remember your teacher's rationale for including it? This illustration slaps tho.

Artist-Lost responds:

he thought the design was a little plain and that if it were going to use its head tentacle as a lure it should have something brighter on it like a flower. I probably could have executed it better and had it make more sense but I didn't want to spend time on changing it. The pompom was easy to paint.

Dude, that monster in the back is so good. I have been spooked.

Shi-Gu responds:

Hahaha thank you!

The massive scar over her middle very violently reminded me of that illustration you drew of her little friend repairing her intestines. You know the one. What have you done?

Also, physique appreciation. I always like seeing a good physique.

OneGrumpyLumpy responds:

What a horrendous mental image I've conjured
